The Chairman of the Anambra State Beach Soccer Association, Prof. Victor Madubuko, has been conferred with the Outstanding Contribution Award.

Madubuko received the award from the
Nigeria Beach Soccer League at the end of Match day one of the 2025 second-round matches held in Nnewi, Anambra State.
The presentation was witnessed by league officials, players, and fans who have witnessed his transformative impact firsthand.
The CEO of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League, Mahmud Hadejia, who presented the award, praised Madubuko for his “passion, dedication, and relentless efforts in developing the game from the grassroots level.”
Upon receiving the award, Professor Madubuko reiterated his commitment to his vision. In his words:
“This recognition is not just for me, but for every player, supporter, and believer in beach soccer in Anambra. Our goal is to make this sport a frontline activity in the state, and this award fuels our determination to achieve even more.” He stated.

Under his leadership, the sport has evolved from a novelty to a mainstream attraction, with the state now regularly hosting national tournaments and competitions that draw teams and spectators from across the country.
Central to Madubuko’s honoured contributions is his ambitious vision for the sport. He has spearheaded plans to establish a permanent home for beach soccer in Anambra, having identified a site for an artificial beach sand pitch of international standard.
This facility is envisioned to become the central hub for talent development, hosting a proposed state league and serving as a feeder system for the national league.
Beyond the sand and goals, Madubuko’s initiative is lauded for its focus on youth empowerment. His work has provided a critical platform for engaging young talents, offering them opportunities for sporting excellence, skill development, and potential employment through the beautiful game.
