Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has been conferred with the Chieftaincy title of “Ife Mbaukwu” by the Traditional Ruler of his community, Igwe Peter Anugwu
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the Deputy Governor’s wife, Oluchi Ibezim was honored as “Ugogbe Mbaukwu”.
Performing the ceremony at his Obu Akabueze Palace Mbaukwu, Igwe Anugwu described Dr Ibezim as a worthy son of the community whose commitment, humility and service have contributed in the development of the community and the state at large.
Speaking after receiving the Chieftaincy title, Dr Ibezim, who thanked Igwe Anugwu for being father to all in the community, noted that an honor to him is an honor to the state government under Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and promised to sustain the legacies for which he was honored.
Describing the honor as well-deserved, some dignitaries, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate with the Ibezim family, including Dr V. Egbuna, Hon. Kelvin Okonkwo, Professor Ebuka Nwankwo, and Barr Chukwunonso Chukwudi, urged “Ife Mbaukwu” to keep the light shining.
