Anambra Firstlady Flag-Off Distribution Of Educational Materials To Schools

The Wife of Anambra State Governor Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo has flagged off the distribution of educational materials to schools.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the distribution was done through the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Board, UBEC.
During the flag-off, Mrs. Soludo said education remains a topic that can never be separated from human development noting that the distribution of the educational materials buttresses an important ideology that drives Anambra State
The Governor’s wife maintained that education is the bedrock of human development and that the distribution of educational materials is to consolidate on existing policy for a stronger and efficient education sector.
The Firstlady commended UBEC and ASUBEB for driving the collaboration of change to aid competitive performance adding that the present administration believes that the best gift it can give to every Anambra child is an unhindered access to the classroom hence the drive towards making policy that would make the education sector better.
In her speech, the Convener who is also the Executive Chairman, ASUBEB, Dr Vera Nwadinobi, disclosed that the materials were supplied by the UBEC, Abuja and Anambra State government and to be distributed to primary and Junior secondary schools saying that the resources represent a significant investment in the future of the educational development of Anambra youths.
Dr Nwadinobi pointed out that the gesture is part of the gains of the reformed relationship Anambra has with UBEC unlike what was obtainable before the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and mentioned the numerous other investment the administration has carried out in the education sector of the state.

in her address, maintained that the federal government recognized the importance of improving teaching and learning hence the allocation of some funds to procure the materials and charged the teachers to ensure that the instructional materials get to the learners and used for the intended purpose.
In their goodwill messages, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma- Ude and Chairman Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Awka, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu described Governor Soludo as a man with passion for quality education who came into office prepared and urged head teachers and principals to ensure that the pupils and students make judicious use of the materials.
ANN gathered that the items distributed were core textbooks for primary and secondary schools, tablets , novels, magnetic whiteboards, diaries, registers, index boxes, suggestion boxes, exercise books, ECCDE toys and sports equipments.
