Anambra: FRSC Decorates Newly Promoted Officers

The Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) decorated two senior officers recently promoted from the rank of Assistant Corps Commander to Deputy Corps Commander.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the newly promoted officers are Okolie Martina, Unit Commander RS5.31 Onitsha, and Boniface Iyakhemie, Unit Commander RS5.37 Umunze.

Speaking during the event held at the Unit Command headquarters in Awka recently,
Anambra Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander attributed the promotions of the officers’ as a result of their outstanding dedication and hard work.

Alexander noted that the advancement was part of a nationwide promotion exercise approved by the FRSC management for senior officers.

“This promotion is a reward for commitment and excellence. To whom much is given, much is expected. I urge the officers to continue to raise the bar and lead by example, especially for those coming behind them.” Alexander said.

The FRSC boss who expressed joy at the officers’ progress, recalled encouraging them prior to the promotion exams with a stern and motivational message.

“This is a fallout of nationwide promotion exercise by the FRSC management. This promotion was purely for senior officers.

“I told them I’d issue a query if they returned without being promoted. That was my way of challenging them, and I’m glad to be fulfilling my desire of replacing old ranks with new ones today. As a leader, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing your team grow.” she said with a smile.

Alexander also hinted that promotions for junior officers were forthcoming, adding that the Corps is committed to career development and reward for performance.

In her response, Deputy Corps Commander Okolie Martina expressed gratitude on behalf of her colleague, thanking the FRSC leadership for the recognition.

“We are deeply honored and pledge to remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to us. We thank the Corps Marshal, the management team, and especially the Sector Commander, whose motherly guidance and discipline played a key role in our progress.”

Okolie continued by acknowledging the support of her team, particularly first responders, for their role in easing traffic congestion in high-pressure areas like the Onitsha Head Bridge. She maintains that their is no regrets joining the FRSC as It’s been a fulfilling journey which makes her look forward to contributing more to the corps’ success.
