Anambra Lawmaker ‘Okoye’ Urges Women To Join Politics

The Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye has re-emphasized on the need for women to play active roles in politics and governance.

Okoye who is the lawmaker representing Awka South two Constituency, while speaking in Amawbia, charged participants to see politics as a path open for them to facilitate the need they desire.

The legislator encouraged them to take their passion for service to the ballot box on November 8 and vote the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

He praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for giving women key roles in his administration, saying it proves that inclusive leadership is not only possible, but essential for progress.

The seminar organized by the youth wing of Awka South Two Constituency of a socio-political pressure group, Ladies of Purpose, drew its inspiration from the idea; “that women deserve a full seat on the political table”.

The convener of the seminar, Joy Enekwechi, shared her gratitude for Rt Hon Okoye’s unwavering support and encouragement, which he has demonstrated by opening doors of opportunity women, especially those from humble backgrounds, to dream big and aim high.

In their separate lectures, Lady Ngozi Ekwunife and Professor Jaja Nwanegbo urged the participants to lead the charge for integrity, character and courage in leadership.
