Anambra: NAPTIP Secures Jail Term For Human Trafficker

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, (NAPTIP), Anambra State Command, has secured the conviction of a 44-year old trafficker, Goodness Amaka Daniel.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the judgement was delivered by the State High Court, Awka Judicial Division.
Delivering judgment on the matter brought against the defendant, the High Court convicted the defendant for trading in human beings.
The court, presided over by Justice Peace Otti, sentenced her to 5-years imprisonment with option of fine in the sum of two million naira (₦2M).
It also mandated her to disgorge two million, six hundred naira only (₦2.6M) to the victim/prosecution witness.
Daniel was arraigned since 9th of July, 2024 for buying or selling of human beings contrary to Section 21 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.
