Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini Quits

Gian Piero Gasperini will quit Atalanta at the end of the season, multiple reports said.

According to Libero, Gasperini will say his goodbye to the Italian Serie A club after this season.

His exit is not connected with his spat with star striker Ademola Lookman, but there are suggestions that the unfortunate incident between the coach and player may have fast tracked his departure.

Top club management had to immediately intervene in the rift between coach and player this past week.

Already, Gasperini, who won Atalanta their first major trophy – the UEFA Europa League – has been linked with several Italian clubs like Napoli, Juventus, AS Roma and AC Milan.

Igor Tudor and former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri are tipped as replacement.
