Manchester United fans were right to feel as though the winter transfer window was largely underwhelming – but that’s not to say INEOS’ two signings haven’t hit the ground running.
Albeit on the receiving end of a straight red in just his fourth game, Patrick Dorgu has slotted seamlessly into Ruben Amorim’s starting XI and executed the exact attacking prowess the boss would’ve initially hoped.
Then, Ayden Heaven, who had only made one 10-minute Carabao Cup appearance at the time of his transfer from Arsenal, has been entrusted in recent matches to showcase his abilities – and boy, has he done exactly that.
The 18-year-old made his Red Devils debut at the beginning of extra-time during the side’s eventual FA Cup defeat to Fulham at the start of the month, being called upon to fill in for the injured Harry Maguire.
A week later, Heaven replaced Leny Yoro after the Frenchman sustained a knock to play the entire second half against his former club. Again, he oversaw a composed, mature display to grind out a crucial point at Old Trafford.
Heaven earns maiden senior start – and hugely impresses

Such a fine display led to Amorim giving Heaven the nod last night. The highly-rated defensive prospect was in from the off for United’s crunch Europa League second leg at home to Real Sociedad, and he played the full game as the Reds booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Heaven certainly did his bit to seal United’s progression, too. As per TNT Sports, the centre-half had 63 touches, completed 42 passes and made four clearances.
He also won all four of his duels attempted and made two interceptions. What’s more, he was not dribbled past once in his entire 90-minute shift.
