Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka doesn’t intend to go anywhere in January, shunning interest from Manchester United and other suitors.
The 29-year-old has been a mainstay at the Allianz Arena since making the move from Schalke in the summer of 2018.
However, the Germany international’s role has been reduced this season with Vincent Kompany at the helm. He has only made 13 appearances across all competitions, with the majority coming off the bench.
Therefore, many have tipped the experienced midfielder to leave the Bundesliga champions, especially with a host of admirers ready to offer him a much more prominent role. The list includes Man United, Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A giants Napoli.
But according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Goretzka is determined to stay at Bayern, at least until the end of the season.

The source insists that the player remains highly motivated, and despite what his lack of minutes might suggest, he is well-appreciated by Kompany.
Therefore, the discussion could be postponed until June, as the German’s contract situation could set the ground for a fiery summer.
Goretzka’s deal with the Bavarian club is only valid until June 2026. So unless he pens a contract renewal, he’ll be 12 months away from free agency by the summer, which could prompt Die Roten to search for a buyer to prevent losing the player for free a year later.
It should be noted that Goretzka isn’t the only Bayern star who is currently being linked with Man United.
The Premier League giants are also pursuing Alphonso Davies and Konrad Laimer, at least based on circulating reports.
