BREAKING: Abuja Airport Closed as Aircraft Skids Off Runway
Operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, have been temporarily halted following an incident involving an Allied Air flight on Wednesday.
The aircraft reportedly suffered a tyre burst upon landing, causing it to skid off the runway. It remains stranded near the runway, prompting airport authorities to suspend operations until the plane can be removed.
Speaking on the incident, a source at NAIA said, “Efforts are ongoing to clear the runway and restore normal operations.”
The incident has caused significant flight delays, with departures put on hold. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and emergency response teams are on-site managing the situation.
