BREAKING: Anambra past women PGs endorse Moghalu ahead of November poll

(DDM) – The governorship ambition of Chief Dr. George Moghalu, Labour Party candidate in Anambra State, has gained significant momentum following a powerful endorsement by past Women Presidents General (PGs) from across the state.
GNM Media Center told DDM that the women leaders, representing various communities, openly declared their support ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial election.
The endorsement was coordinated by Barrister Oge Ekwezor and Madam Favour Nwaorah, who were commended by Moghalu for their resilience and dedication in mobilizing women for the Labour Party project.
Addressing the forum, Moghalu explained that his decision to contest was born out of a deep desire to transform leadership in Anambra.
He lamented the collapse of education, healthcare, and security, warning that no society can thrive in an environment dominated by fear and instability.
Moghalu assured the women that, if elected, his government would restore dignity to governance through people-centered policies designed to improve lives and rebuild trust in public institutions.
He recalled the era of good governance under former governor Peter Obi, describing it as a model worth replicating.
According to him, free education for children and free healthcare for the elderly will form a major plank of his administration’s social contract.
Moghalu described such welfare policies as both a moral duty and a necessity for securing the state’s future.
He criticized the present administration for subjecting ordinary citizens to crude taxation practices, including the unpopular “Aka Odo” levy.
The Labour Party candidate condemned such methods as shameful, insensitive, and exploitative, stressing that true leadership must embody compassion and empathy.
The past Women PGs, in a show of solidarity, pledged to take Moghalu’s message to their respective communities.
They promised to mobilize grassroots support, assuring him that no amount of inducement or pressure from desperate politicians would sway their commitment.
The women emphasized that their loyalty to Moghalu was not transactional but anchored on belief in his vision for a better Anambra.
They vowed to resist any attempts to buy their conscience, declaring that the 2025 election must be about values and future, not money politics.
“We are ready to deliver our communities for Labour Party, because we believe in Dr. George Moghalu and the future he represents,” the women leaders affirmed.
They further tied their endorsement to a larger political vision, pledging to strengthen the Labour Party in Anambra as a firm base for His Excellency Peter Obi’s national political aspirations.
The gathering ended with chants of solidarity and renewed determination to ensure Moghalu’s victory at the polls.
