BREAKING: NCAA Summons Ibom Air Cabin Crew and Passenger Following Flight Controversy

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has formally summoned both Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in a widely circulated incident, and Ibom Air cabin crew member Juliana Edward for further questioning. The move follows a disturbing event aboard a flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10.
Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, revealed during an Emergency National Civil Aviation Security Committee and Stakeholders meeting in Abuja that both parties will appear before the authority to clarify the incident. He disclosed that he had already spoken with Emmanson earlier in the day.
Although the incident appeared to have been resolved before the plane departed Uyo, further attention was drawn when Emmanson—reportedly after using the restroom—was the last passenger to disembark from the flight, drawing scrutiny over the chain of events.
Addressing rising unruly behavior in aviation, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, highlighted a decline in discipline among passengers, airport personnel, and crew members. He praised the NCAA for enforcing stricter standards and called for increased collaboration among aviation agencies to ensure sector safety.
