Chiwetalu Agu Debunks Death Rumours

Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has debunked reports of his death, assuring fans that he is alive and healthy.
The actor took to Instagram on Friday to address the false news after several online blogs claimed he had passed away.
In a video posted on his official page, Agu described the rumours as unfounded and urged fans to ignore them.
He explained that a careless blogger spread the story without confirming the facts, causing unnecessary panic among his family and admirers.
His caption read: “Fans and family, please disregard any rumours about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace.”
In the video, Agu, who hails from Enugu State, reassured followers in his trademark style. “Chief Chiwetalu Agu, okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, is not going to die anytime soon.
Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Na who dig pit go fall inside. Na who dig grave go fall inside.”
He also emphasized his desire to live long enough to enjoy his grandchildren.
“I am yet to carry my grandchildren, and I must carry them in good health when my children are ready,” he added.
Known for his comic roles and witty proverbs, Agu said he might have pursued legal action if a major platform had published the false claim.
Expressing concern over the gullibility of some social media users, he said: “What baffles me is that in this 21st century, 2025, people are still quick to believe such things without verifying.
Fans and families, disregard any rumours or rebuke anyone spreading such diabolical news about me.”
The actor’s clarification comes after days of confusion among fans who were shocked by the fake news. His strong response has since reassured his supporters across Nigeria and beyond.
