Nollywood star and filmmaker Yul Edochie is known for his commanding presence on screen, but now he’s using his voice to empower young men off-screen too. In a recent Instagram post that quickly caught attention, Yul shared some bold and timely advice on love, confidence, and courage.
In his words, “Young men, let me give you some tips as an OG in the game.” And he didn’t hold back.
Yul encouraged guys not to be intimidated by a woman’s status. His message? Shoot your shot—regardless of where you stand financially. “If you like a lady, no matter her status, walk up to her and tell her you like her,” he wrote. “Don’t wait till you have money before you can talk. Money is not everything.”
According to Yul, confidence is the real currency. “Confidence is number 1,” he emphasized. “Ladies love men who have guts and confidence no matter their class.”
He also reminded young men never to let their confidence waver. “Never let your confidence level drop for any reason,” he added, before reassuring them that rejection isn’t the end of the world. “She will not kill you. She’ll either say yes or no.”
But the message didn’t stop there. Yul believes that in most cases, persistence pays off. “Most likely, in the end she’ll say yes, because like I told you before, ladies love strong men.”
