Credit where it’s due, INEOS seem to be getting to work behind the scenes to grant Ruben Amorim some influential signings this summer.
Not only have Manchester United been linked with a host of top talents in the build-up to the transfer window, they’re now confirmed to be in pursuit of Matheus Cunha – just two days after he spent the afternoon at Old Trafford and came face-to-face with Amorim.
Some of the most reputable transfer outlets in world football have verified the Reds’ interest as recently as this morning. Initially, Laurie Whitwell (The Athletic) revealed there had been ‘positive contract talks’ held over the Brazilian international, with Amorim and club executives ‘aligned’ on him being a priority target for the No.10 position.
Fabrizio Romano claims that United ‘feel they’re leading the race’ to get a deal over the line, while Sky Sports adds Cunha himself has given the club ‘positive indications’ that he wants to join in the coming months.
Cunha prepares for Wolves exit just two months after signing bumper contract

Remarkably, the Wolverhampton Wanderers talisman put pen to paper on a four-year contract extension back in February, committing his future to the Molineux until June 2029. However, recent developments would suggest he only did so to have a £62.5 million release clause inserted, which should make for a relatively seamless transfer and also allow Wolves to replace him sufficiently.
Cunha, 25, has been an ever-present in front of goal this season, notching 14 goals and four assists in 28 Premier League appearances. He scored and assisted in Wolves’ 2-1 home win over United back in December, with his efforts proving instrumental to the Midlands outfit retaining their top-flight status after a hectic start to the campaign.
