Fatima, mother of newly crowned Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, has described her son’s trophy as “the Ballon d’Or of all of Africa” and announced intentions to take it on tour across the continent, including Senegal and her village of Waly Diantang in Mauritania.
Reflecting on Dembele’s African heritage, Fatima urged that the celebration be shared with the entire continent. “We’re going to bring it everywhere — Waly, Senegal. This is the Ballon d’Or of all of Africa,” she stated.
