Doyin Okupe for burial March 28

Former presidential spokesman, Doyin Okupe, will be buried in his hometown, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, on March 28, 2025.

According to the notice, burial rites will commence on Saturday, March 22, with a commendation service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Abuja.
On Thursday, March 27, a Service of Songs and a Day of Tributes will be held at Trinity House, by Water Corporation Drive, off Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, at 11am.
This will be followed by a wake at Agbonmagbe Castle, Sagamu-Iperu Road, Ogun State, at 4pm.
Lying in state will take place on Friday, March 28, at Agbonmagbe Castle, Sagamu-Iperu Road, Ogun State, at 9:30am.
The burial service is scheduled for the same day at Methodist Church, Akesan Road, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, at 10am.
Interment will hold thereafter.
News Band reported that Okupe died from remission of cancer in Lagos early this month.
Okupe was widely known for his role as the Director-General of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign but was forced to step down after being convicted for money laundering.
Following the 2023 general election, he resigned from the Labour Party and became an outspoken supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Prior to these roles, Okupe also served as a senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
