The Chairman of Dunukofia Local Government Council, Hon. Chijioke Ozumba has flagged off the immediate construction of a strategic 1km road linking Ukpo to Ifitedunu.
Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
the road popularly known as Ezi Mbombo started from the Oranto Ukpo axis of Ukpo/Ifitedunu Junction road and terminates at the Obieze Ifitedunu axis of Ifitedunu junction/Awkuzu road.
Performing the flag off at the weekend, Bar. Ozumba emphasized that his administration has come to work for Ndi Dunukofia, in line with Governor Soludo’s good governance. He assured that he will stop at nothing until he delivers the collective interest of Dunukofia Local Government.
“Ndi Dunukofia deserve the best dividends of democracy and am here to deliver them to our people as a way to compliment the great efforts of our Oluatuegwu, Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, CFR.”
“The road construction when completed will decongest the traffic-lock at Ifitedunu junction, especially during the festive periods, as motorists can easily ply the link road to access Ifitedunu, Umunnachi, Awkuzu communities without passing through the Ifitedunu junction.
“Road construction is among the core indices of development and my administration is making every effort to address as many roads within our localities as possible”
The Mayor announce his administration’s plans to construct another road in Umudioka and one in Umunnachi, including construction of the popular Ali Bridge in Nawgu.
“We will take on these road projects one after the other upon the completion of the Ukpo-Ifitedunu link road.
“The road project awarded to Senatorch Construction Company will be completed within one month, having paid over 80% of the contract sum to the construction firm” the LG boss said
Ozumba assured that the specifications, quality of the road upon completion shall be a standard and it’s expected to last for over 20 years. He hinted on high reputation of the construction firm, hence, it’s expected that they shall deliver the job within the expected time and according to the specifications of the contract.
He called on ndi Dunukofia to reciprocate the good efforts of his administration to delivering on her campaign promises by supporting his administration, and supporting APGA at all level, especially in the coming November 8 Anambra State Gubernatorial election to ensure the re-election of Governor Soludo for
second term.
In his speech, the Contractor, Bar. Chidi Amaeze of Senatorch Construction Company, lauded Dunukofia Mayor for prioritizing the collective interests of the people. He assured that their company will deliver a quality job within the stipulated duration of time with the guarantee of 20 years as Mayor Dunukofia has stated earlier.
In their separate remarks, the traditional ruler of Ifitedunu community, Igwe Chukwuemekalum Ilounoegbunam, the President General of Ukpo community, Sir Cyril Ezewulu, and the President General of Ifitedunu community, Prof. Uchenna Ufoaroh attested to Mayor’s claims that the road is of great importance to ndi Dunukofia.
They recounted how they used to access the road during their primary and secondary schools period in the olden days.
They thanked the Mayor for remembering to fix the road, noting that the road will be of immense benefits to the people of Dunukofia and beyond.
The Chairman of APGA in Dunukofia Local Government Area, Chief Patrick Okonkwo expressed immense joy for all that Bar. Ozumba has been doing especially as they are happening in his regime as Dunukofia APGA Chairman.
According to Okonkwo, the vision of the party is to transform the society rapidly in infrastructural and human capital development among others.
