EFCC Invites CBEX Crypto Scam Victims to Assist Ongoing Investigation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued an urgent call for Nigerians who suffered financial losses through the now-defunct Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX) to step forward and assist with its ongoing investigation into the scam.
In a statement signed by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the agency announced that three individuals—Adefowora Abiodun Olanipekun, Otorudo Avwerosuo, and Ehirim Justice Chukwuebuka—have already been arraigned for their alleged roles in the fraudulent scheme.
The EFCC confirmed that CBEX operated trading offices in Ibadan, Oyo State, and Idimu, Lagos, where many unsuspecting investors were lured with promises of unrealistic returns, only to lose their funds when the platform collapsed.
To strengthen its prosecution case and improve recovery efforts, the EFCC is urging victims to report to its zonal directorates in Ibadan (16A Reverend Oyebode Crescent, Iyaganku) and Lagos (7A Okotie-Eboh Street, Ikoyi). The agency stressed that firsthand testimonies are critical to achieving justice for those affected.
