In a significant political development, leaders from the Ekitih North Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for re-election.
This formal endorsement occurred during a special meeting of All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholders at Events Arcade, Ido Ekiti.
The decision to support the Governor and his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, stems from notable achievements.
Leaders praised Oyebanji’s administration for its advancements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and human capital development.
They described his tenure as a “golden era” that must continue for sustained progress.
Prominent figures attending the endorsement included Senator Cyril Fasuyi, Hon Akinlayo Kolawole, and Speaker Rt. Hon Adeboye Aribasoye.
Additionally, Ekiti APC Chairman Bar Sola Eleshin and various former and current assembly members participated, demonstrating strong political unity.
This endorsement follows a confidence vote from the State Caucus of the APC, which also supported Governor Oyebanji.
Additionally, they endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another term, showcasing broad political support within the party.
Senator Cyril Fasuyi commended Governor Oyebanji for his commitment to grassroots development across all local governments.
He highlighted the Governor’s fulfillment of electoral promises through six pillars: infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, governance, and social development.
Fasuyi moved the endorsement motion, ratified by a thunderous voice vote, emphasizing the need for continuity.
He asserted that Oyebanji’s administration has laid a solid foundation for transformative progress.
Chief Abejide, Chairman of the Ekiti North Progressive Leader’s Forum, praised the Governor for his integrity and competence. He noted that in just over two years, Oyebanji’s administration made tangible impacts crucial to the state’s growth.
Speaker Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye lauded the Governor for exceptional leadership and development across Ekiti State. He stressed unity and collective efforts to sustain the gains achieved under Oyebanji’s leadership.
Responding on behalf of the Governor, Chief Jide Awe expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and endorsement. He assured stakeholders that the government remains committed to delivering democracy dividends, improving citizens’ quality of life.
This endorsement from Ekiti North follows similar support from leaders in the Central and South Senatorial Districts, reflecting widespread backing for Governor Oyebanji’s continued leadership.
