EPL could have 7 teams in next season's Champions League

The Premier League could have as many as seven teams in next season’s Champions League.

This would be the top five teams in the league, plus the Champions League winners and the Europa League winners – if they finish outside the top five.

UEFA will reward two leagues in Europe this season with an extra slot in the 2025/26 Champions League.

But this will be based on the record of their teams in all of UEFA’s competitions this campaign.

For the Premier League, the top four-placed teams, as well as the club that finishes fifth could also go straight into the Champions League.

Added to that, the winners of this season’s Champions League and the winners of the Europa League will each be given a place in the 2025/26 Champions League, if they have not already qualified through their league position.

The Premier League’s current top five ahead of this weekend are: Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Manchester City.
