Expelled Unizik Student Seek Forgiveness From Assaulted Lecturer

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) student expelled for assaulting a lecturer,
Chimamaka Precious Goddy-Mbakwe has personally apologized to Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, in an emotional meeting.

Angel Network News (ANN) gathered that
Precious visited Dr. Okoye alongside her parents, siblings, well-wishers, and some university staff to express sincere remorse over her actions.

“The girl’s father made it clear that their visit was not to influence the university’s disciplinary action but simply to ask the lecturer to find a place in his heart to forgive his daughter.

“They wanted him to know they regretted her actions and were deeply sorry.” the source said.

In response, Dr. Okoye comforted her and assured her of his forgiveness.

“When she started crying, Dr. Chukwudi held her tight, wiped her tears, and told her he had truly forgiven her,” the source recounted.

Despite this, the disciplinary measures remained unchanged, as the university was determined to use the case as a deterrent to other students.

“No lecturer or staff could have influenced the decision of the disciplinary committee. The school wanted to ensure that the university’s image was not dragged into the mud.” the source explained

However, the source pointed out that while Precious was expelled, she was not rusticated, meaning she could still gain admission into another institution.

“If she had been both expelled and rusticated, it would have affected her chances of gaining admission into any government-owned university and even impacted her ability to work in public service in the future,” the source added.

ANN reports that the incident has sparked conversations on discipline, student behaviour, and the consequences of social media activities on university campuses.
