Fernandes Fluffs Penalty as Fulham Snatch 1–1 Draw Against Man United

In a tense Premier League match at Craven Cottage, Fulham secured a hard-fought 1–1 draw with Manchester United, thanks in part to a missed penalty by United captain Bruno Fernandes.

United had initially taken the lead when Leny Yoro headed home from a corner, only for the goal to be credited as an own goal to Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz. However, United failed to climb further ahead when Fernandes rerouted his spot-kick wildly over the crossbar following contact from the referee, Chris Kavanagh, which disrupted his run-up.

Fulham’s Emile Smith Rowe answered swiftly—just 93 seconds after entering as a substitute—by calmly dispatching Alex Iwobi’s cross into the net to level the score.

The draw leaves both teams still pursuing their first league win of the season: Fulham sit 13th with two points from two matches, while United linger at 16th with just one point.
