FG launches induction programme for newly appointed PSs, Accountant-General

Abuja, April 23, 2025 – To strengthen leadership and policy implementation, the Federal Government (FG) has introduced a three-day induction programme for newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and the Accountant-General.
According to a statement by Eno Olotu, MNIPR, Director of Information and Public Relations, the event began today at the National Counter Terrorism Centre in Abuja.
Furthermore, it aims to equip officials with essential skills for effective governance and national development.

Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, MNI, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), officially opened the programme.
During her address, she congratulated the appointees and stressed their pivotal roles in government operations.
Specifically, she stated, “Permanent Secretaries are the engine room of government,” emphasizing their duty in policy execution and institutional reforms.
Additionally, she urged them to uphold integrity, diligence, and teamwork.
Moreover, Mrs. Walson-Jack highlighted their leadership’s importance in achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda and FCSSIP 25.
“This final lap of FCSSIP 25 demands urgency, accountability, and strategic focus,” she added. The programme features expert-led discussions, simulations, and briefings facilitated by distinguished leaders.
Notably, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, CON, and Dr. Hadiza Bala Usman are among the facilitators.
Mrs. Fatima Sugra Tabi’a Mahmood, Permanent Secretary of the Career Management Office, described the initiative as a strategic investment in leadership.
She expressed confidence that the sessions would enhance participants’ effectiveness.
The inductees include Dr. Obi Emeka Vitalis, Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, and other key officials.
As the induction programme progresses, it is expected to prepare these leaders for impactful service.
