Former Nasarawa deputy gov Solomon Ewuga is dead

Nasarawa State has lost a respected political figure with the passing of Senator Solomon Akku Ewuga.

The news of his death was confirmed by family sources in Akwanga and Nasarawa-Eggon to Daily Trust on Tuesday.

Though, details surrounding his death are still emerging.

Ewuga was a seasoned lawyer and politician who made significant contributions to the state’s political landscape.

He first gained prominence in 1999 when he contested for the governorship ticket under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and later served as deputy governor to Abdullahi Adamu.

He went on to hold various positions, including Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory.

Throughout his career, Ewuga served in different capacities, including a senator representing Nasarawa North in the 7th Assembly. He also had a stint as the managing director of the Nigerian Standard Newspaper.

Despite facing personal tragedies, including the loss of a daughter in a plane crash and being kidnapped and injured, Ewuga remained a notable figure in Nasarawa politics.

His educational background includes a degree in political science from the University of Ibadan and studies in mass communication at Stockholm University, Sweden.

The circumstances of his death are still unfolding, but his legacy in Nasarawa State’s politics is well-remembered.
