The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) has pledged $5 million to the Rotary Foundation. This significant contribution will enhance Nigeria’s efforts to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality.

According to a press release by Alaba Balogun, Deputy Director of Press & Public Relations, the Ministry of Information and National Orientation announced this commitment on April 23, 2025.
Notably, Sir Emeka Offor, a prominent Nigerian philanthropist and Rotary member, emphasized the importance of investing in maternal and child health.
He stated, “Helping mothers and babies survive and thrive is among the greatest investments we can make in Nigeria’s future.”

In the past two years, healthcare facilities across four targeted regions have successfully reduced maternal deaths by 20% and neonatal fatalities by 28%. Additionally, Mark Maloney, Chair of the Rotary Foundation Trustees, sincerely appreciated SEOF’s timely support, recognizing its crucial role in advancing healthcare initiatives.
Furthermore, Rotary’s “Together for Healthy Families in Nigeria” program actively works alongside the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. Through this collaboration, both organizations strive to lower maternal and infant mortality rates, ensuring better healthcare outcomes nationwide.
