Fulani scavenger slashes throat of grandson of Ondo music icon

Prince Ogo Omoge, grandson of the late legendary musician Comfort Omoge, was viciously attacked by a scavenger.
The heartbreaking incident unfolded along the Ayeka/Igodan-Igbokoda expressway during a heated argument between the deceased and the suspect.
Witnesses say the disagreement, sparked by an undisclosed issue, quickly turned violent.

The suspect reportedly pulled out a dagger and slashed Omoge’s throat.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, the young man was pronounced dead on arrival.
While reacting to the unfortunate incident, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Andrew Ogunsakin, confirmed the arrest of the suspect identified as Machido Abubakar.
He commended the swift efforts of security operatives and assured the bereaved family of the government’s support in ensuring justice is served.
Ogunsakin also met with traditional rulers, community leaders, youth organizations, and members of the Hausa/Fulani community in a bid to foster peace and prevent further unrest.
Meanwhile, Ayanlade Olayinka, the spokesman of Ondo police command confirmed the incident and arrest, adding that the suspect will remain in custody as investigations continue.
The public has been urged to remain calm while authorities carry out a thorough probe.
