Galatasaray are keen on signing Super Eagles attacking talent to partner with Victor Osimhen.

Galatasaray have reportedly entered the race for Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers after the Nigeria international shone in the Europa League clash against Fenerbahce.

The former Utrecht striker was a one-man demolition crew in last night’s clash against Rangers, finding the back of the net three times and assisting once, although two of his goals were chalked off for offside.

The Super Eagles star scored the opener on the night and assisted Vaclav Cerny just before half-time to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. The Czech midfielder scored once more to give the Gers a 3-1 first-leg advantage.

Following the game, Fenerbahce’s boss Jose Mourinho praised Dessers for his performance, saying the Nigerian performed like the best player in the world.

Galatasaray’s interest

According to a report from GsGazette, Galatasaray’s technical team have kept an eye on Dessers, and his performance against their biggest rivals last night excited the recruitment arm of the club.

Per the report, they believe he can have a Bafetimbi Gomis-type effect, a phenomenon used by Galatasaray fans to describe a short but impactful stint, as the former Swansea striker’s first period at the club saw him score 29 goals in 33 league games.

Dessers currently has a contract at Rangers until 2027, but the Scottish side were keen on selling him during the winter transfer window and are still open to doing so.
