Hilda Baci Runs Test Batch Ahead of Record-Breaking Giant Jollof Rice Attempt

Nigerian celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has begun test cooking preparations for an unprecedented feat: creating the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
The trial run, conducted in a custom-made pot measuring approximately six metres in width and height, serves as a dry run ahead of the main event scheduled for September 12, 2025, at the Gino World Jollof Festival in Lagos.
Set at Muri Okunola Park, the Gino World Jollof Festival will feature West African food, music, and cultural performances — and will be open to the public free of charge. Hilda Baci captured the anticipation on social media, writing, “Six metres wide. Six metres tall. On September 12, we make history together. Because what is jollof without you to share it with?”
Having secured her previous Guinness accolade for the longest cooking marathon, Baci approaches this challenge with confidence and experience, aiming to once again set a new standard and celebrate unity through food.
