How ARISE News Anchor Somtochukwu Maduagwu Died During Abuja Robbery

The Kaduna State Council of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives has hailed Governor Uba Sani.

They praised him for approving and implementing the Consolidated Health Salary Structure and the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

The commendation was contained in a letter jointly signed by State Chairman, Comrade Ishaku Yakubu, and State Secretary, Comrade Christiana Bawa.

The letter, addressed to the governor on Tuesday, described the move as a remarkable act of fairness and magnanimity.

NANNM said the decision has restored confidence and rekindled the hope of nurses and midwives in the administration.

The group noted that the action aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s federal government.

Governor Sani’s decision was described as timely and a clear demonstration of commitment to healthcare workers’ welfare in Kaduna.

According to the association, the governor reaffirmed his passion for strengthening healthcare delivery through deliberate and people-centered policies.

Despite competing demands on limited state resources, the administration placed priority on the welfare of healthcare professionals, the council stated.

NANNM stressed that such commitment shows Kaduna is emerging as a model for labour-friendly governance across the Nigerian federation.

The council added that the implementation of CONHESS and CONMESS has already boosted the morale of healthcare professionals statewide.

It explained that the development has improved productivity, motivation, and renewed dedication among nurses, midwives, and other health workers.

The group pledged unwavering loyalty, professional dedication, and continued service to support the governor’s transformation agenda in healthcare delivery.

On September 4, 2025, Governor Sani had announced approval of the 2024 Consolidated Health Salary Structure and hazard allowance.

The announcement was made effective from September 2025, bringing palpable relief among healthcare workers in Kaduna State.

The disclosure came during a press briefing in Kaduna by NANNM State Chairman, Comrade Ishaku Yakubu.

Healthcare workers in Kaduna had long expressed concerns about salary disparities compared with their colleagues in other Nigerian states.

The governor’s approval of new structures was therefore received as a solution to years of agitation and uncertainty.

Observers believe the move will stabilize the healthcare workforce and reduce the outflow of skilled professionals leaving the state.

By improving welfare, the administration hopes to retain experienced staff and attract new talent to Kaduna’s healthcare system.

Stakeholders emphasized that fair remuneration remains central to building a strong, sustainable, and effective healthcare sector.

Kaduna State now joins a growing list of states that have adopted federal salary templates for healthcare professionals.

For many nurses and midwives, the governor’s decision is both an economic relief and a validation of dedication.

A nurse at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital said the reforms renewed their motivation to serve the people wholeheartedly.

With health workers pledging renewed commitment, the governor’s healthcare reforms promise a new era of collaboration and progress.
