Popular Nigerian singer Chidinma Ekile has bravely opened up about a harrowing period in her life where severe depression led her to attempt suicide, attributing the impulse at the time to spiritual oppression.
In a candid and emotional interview, the former Project Fame West Africa winner disclosed that intense bullying, career pressures, and a failed business venture plunged her into a deep state of despair several years ago.
“The devil told me to take my life,” Ekile stated, describing the traumatic episode where she ingested a harmful substance. “I felt completely broken, overwhelmed by darkness and hopelessness. I believed ending my life was the only escape.”
