Ichida, another Anambra Community endorses Ukachukwu, says he’s a man of his words

More communities have continued to come out of their shells, shaking off morbid fears of official harassment, intimidation and abandonment by the incumbent Prof Chukwuma Soludo administration to speak their mind openly, the latest being Ichida Community leadership.
Ichida, in Anaocha Council of Anambra State, over the weekend, at its New Yam festival and their annual International Delegates Conference, became the one hundred, sixty-one community to endorse Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, popularly known as Ikukuoma (Wind of Glory), with a standing ovation when they received him in their midst.
Prince Ukachukwu is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful for the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election.
Earlier, the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Charles Ezeudogu, while receiving him in his palace, described Ukachukwu as a worthy son of Anaocha Council area who has distinguished himself in everything he has set to do in life and in every part of the world.
Igwe Ezeudogu observed that he has been a friend and pillar of strength and pride to many Anambra youths, businessmen and families for decades.
He said and his people have no problem pledging their support for him in the governorship ambition, describing Ukachukwu as a versatile successful industrialist who has thrived commendably.
The President General of the community, in his remarks, reiterated their genealogical trace and relationship from the Igwulube Okotu clan who naturally looks out for one another.
He therefore assures him of the full support of Okotu Clan.
On his part, the community’s Youth Leader, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ezenwaka, assured Ukachukwu of their full support.
Mr. Ezenwaka stressed that young people’s backing as support was principally because of his personality and track record as a versatile investor rather than empty political promises.
He noted that that they were convinced that he would replicate his widely acknowledged youth-friendly investment model in the state when he becomes the governor.
According to Ezenwaka, “We are not voting for party symbols, we are voting for Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu,” he emphasized.
“How could a community without any single road project, appointment or government facility or presence delude itself that the governor was doing well,” the people emphasised.
Hon (Mrs) Genevieve Ekwochi, an APC stalwart in the area, and Pastor Ikeme Nwokedi, a prominent member of the community, urged mass mobilisation in support of Ukachukwu in the whole community, Anaocha Council area and the State ahead of the governorship polls.
Nwokedi described Ukachukwu as “a man of his words” who speaks as a redeemed Christian.
He therefore cautioned voters against any form of inducement.
Hear him: “Come November 8, 2025, vote APC, and that is voting for Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu. His success begins with you canvassing for him,” he said.
Ukachukwu pledged to prioritise security, economic transformation, and mass community development as part of his agenda for a prosperous Anambra State, once he’s elected governor of the state.
Ukachukwu assured to hit the ground running from day one at his inauguration as governor of Anambra State after the election.
Speaking during his visit to Ichida where he met with community leaders, youth groups, women associations and party supporters, he pledged to accord their indigenes prominent positions in his cabinet.
He said that all citizen of Anambra will remain equal stakeholders in the administration he would lead, hence must be given a sense of belonging at all times.
Ukachukwu pointed out that insecurity remains the state’s biggest challenge and must be tackled head-on.
He admitted that “no society thrives where there is insecurity. We must first secure lives and property before securing the economy.
“Anambra is known for manufacturing and trades and we will encourage policies that support what our people do best,” he added
Other key areas of focus, according to him, will include security, electricity, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Ukachukwu assured that he would leverage the state’s abundant gas deposits in Ayamelum and other parts of the state to improve power generation and distribution.
He described electricity as the “key to transforming the economy.”
Talking about infrastructure in the area among others, the business mogul promised to rehabilitate and expand the long-neglected road linking Nnewi South, Anaocha, and Njikoka, with Ichida at its centre.
He said the project would not only involve repairs but dualisation and the construction of additional routes to ease movement, open up communities, and significantly boost economic activities across the three local governments.
The governorship hopeful vowed to revolutionise agriculture in the entire state through sustainable value chain, noting that farming could provide jobs, ensure food security and tame youth restiveness
He supported the community’s healthcare project with princely donation and promised to install more solar-powered streetlights at strategic points within the community.
Madam Appollonia Osigwe praised an earlier streetlight project in the community by the Prince for improving businesses, night life and security especially at night.
She urged women in the community to vote en masse for Ukachukwu and APC in the upcoming governorship election.
