Igwe Emelobe Emerge Traditional Ruler Of Oba Community

Oba community in Idemili South local government area of Anambra State after seven years without a king, elected Igwe Augustine Chinedu Emelobe (Ezeokpoko two), as its new traditional ruler on Saturday, March 15th 2025.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the new monarch was elected by delegates in line with the tradition and constitution of the community and Anambra State.

Speaking after his installation, Igwe Emelobe pledged to lead and serve the people without fear or favour and to discharge his duties selflessly.

In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary to Anambra State Government, Dr. Nwabufo Nwankwo, APGA Chieftain, Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu and Mayor of Idemili South, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi congratulated the new king and residents of Oba for the peaceful election.

They called on the people to support the new king for the peace and progress of the community and Idemili South.
