I’ll deport 150,000 illegal migrants each year — Badenoch

United Kingdom Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has launched a new immigration plan called the “Radical Borders Plan,” aiming to deport 150,000 illegal migrants annually.

Badenoch described the plan as the “toughest reforms Britain has ever seen,” designed to overhaul the UK’s border enforcement system.

In a video message posted on her X account on Sunday, Badenoch said the Radical Borders Plan would introduce a new Removals Force, modelled after the United States’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to overhaul the UK’s border enforcement system.

As a caption to the video, she wrote: “My message is clear: if you’re here illegally, you will be detained and deported. Our new Removals Force, modelled on US ICE, will deport 150,000 illegal migrants each year.”

Asylum claims from illegal entrants will be prohibited, and the UK will withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and repeal the Human Rights Act.

Illegal arrivals will be deported within seven days, with legal barriers to mass deportations removed.

Countries that refuse to repatriate their citizens will face visa sanctions.

The plan aims to “shut down the asylum hotel racket,” saving taxpayers billions of pounds and restoring public trust in Britain’s border system.

Badenoch criticized both Conservative and Labour governments for failing to address the migration crisis effectively, accusing Labour of presiding over record levels of illegal crossings and wasting public funds on asylum accommodations.

“If you come here illegally, you will be deported,” she emphasized.

The plan has sparked debate, with critics labeling it “inhumane and legally reckless.”

Badenoch’s comments about deporting migrants also drew criticism, particularly her response to a question about where deported migrants would be sent, saying they would “go back to where they should be or another country”.
