‘I’m No Predator’ – Speed Darlington Responds to NAPTIP Over Alleged Misconduct with Minors

Controversial Nigerian entertainer and social media personality, Speed Darlington, has issued a firm and passionate response to an official invitation by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), requesting clarification over certain online videos allegedly involving inappropriate content with minors.
The letter, addressed to the Director General of NAPTIP and dated June 2, 2025, followed a prior communication sent to Speed Darlington’s Instagram account on May 28. The agency claims the videos in question may contain admissions of potentially criminal sexual conduct, if substantiated.
In his official reply, Speed Darlington, born Darlington Okoye, categorically denied any wrongdoing. “I have never engaged in or contemplated involving myself in any form of sexual predation, sexual violation or any form of untoward act against the opposite sex,” he asserted.
Referring to himself as a “law-abiding citizen” raised with strong moral values, he emphasized his commitment to positively influencing the youth, stating, “I am alive to my responsibilities in helping to mould lasting moral values amongst our young ones.”
The entertainer clarified that the content in question was created purely for entertainment, adding that it was misinterpreted by those “looking for fault where none exists.” He also apologized for any “bad taste or misinterpretation” that may have arisen from the videos, admitting they were created for “clout and entertainment purposes.”
Speed Darlington pledged full cooperation with NAPTIP and expressed readiness to appear at the agency’s office on June 26, 2025, to provide further clarification.
