Iyabo Ojo accuses Lizzy Anjorin of cursing her family, vows fresh legal battle

Renewed legal threat
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has vowed to take fresh legal action against Lizzy Anjorin over alleged defamatory remarks.

Ojo claims the comments include threats and curses directed at her and her family, including her young grandson, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

The renewed threat comes months after the Lagos State High Court dismissed Ojo’s N1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin.

The court cited procedural irregularities in the case and ordered Ojo’s lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay N500,000 in legal costs.

A feud played out online and in court
The dispute between the actresses has lasted for years, drawing attention on social media and in Nigerian courts.

Anjorin has repeatedly mocked Ojo in several Facebook Live videos, which sparked parody content on TikTok and Facebook.

Despite the ridicule, Ojo confirmed in a Monday Instagram post that her legal team is documenting all remarks.

“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. Everything has its timing,” she wrote.

Impact on family and personal life
Ojo admitted some parody videos amused her but said Anjorin’s alleged curses deeply worry her.

“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking,” Ojo said.

She stated that she struggles to remain silent but chooses to ignore distractions.

“Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” she added.

Ojo revealed her focus in recent months has been welcoming her first grandchild and supporting her daughter.

However, she hinted at taking stronger legal action once she returns to Lagos.

Fire incident fuels tension
The conflict intensified after a fire at Ojo’s Lagos office, which her daughter, Priscilla, linked to ongoing threats.

Priscilla said they received a letter in May alleging their movements were being monitored.

Ojo argued that Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happens to her or her family.

Origins of the feud
Ojo explained the feud began after she publicly supported Folashade Tinubu, wife of Anjorin’s husband.

Her support reportedly triggered attacks and accusations from Anjorin, escalating the long-standing dispute.

The rivalry has involved police petitions, lawsuits, and online hostilities, making it one of Nollywood’s most public feuds.

Looking ahead
Ojo’s statements suggest the legal battle is far from over, and tensions may intensify in the coming months.

Observers note the feud highlights the influence of social media, celebrity disputes, and the growing use of legal action in Nigeria.
