JAMB gives fresh instruction to direct entry applicants

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has instructed all 2024 direct entry (DE) candidates to upload their results immediately upon release.
JAMB in a statement signed by Fabian Benjamin, the board’s spokesman on Sunday, instructed all 2024 direct entry (DE) candidates who registered with awaiting results from the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMB) or the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) to upload their results immediately upon release as failure to comply would result in disqualification from the 2024 DE admission process.
“During the 2024 DE registration period, some candidates registered with awaiting results from IJMB and JUPEB but have not yet uploaded these results. Please note that no candidate will be considered for admission with awaiting results, similar to the policy for UTME candidates.
“Any application marked as ‘awaiting result’ (AR) that does not comply with this directive will be disqualified from admission consideration,” Benjamin said.
Besides, the head of information unit at JAMB emphasised that it is essential all candidate credentials are verified to determine their eligibility.
He explained that candidates found without uploaded results will be regarded as not having any results.
The board also counseled candidates planning to apply for the 2025 DE admission to be proactive in uploading their results promptly upon release.
“Additionally, candidates applying for the 2025 DE are encouraged to be proactive. Ensure that your awaiting results are uploaded promptly upon release to change your status from AR and enhance your chances of admission,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) is scheduled to take place from Friday, April 25 to Monday, May 5.
The optional mock UTME initially fixed for Saturday, April 5, is now scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 10, while the direct entry application is billed to close on Monday, April 7.
