JUST IN: ADC Deputy Spokesperson Slumps, Dies in Imo

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Has lamented what they described as the “shameful betrayal” by governors from the South East extraction of Nigeria.

The Spokesperson and Media and Publicity Secretary for IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful made the remarks in a press statement dated September 30, 2025, respecting IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is languishing in the Department of State Security (DSS) dungeon.

Comrade Powerful, in a statement condemned the cowardly silence and shameful betrayal of Igbo governors, traditional rulers and political leaders.

Powerful accused them of mortgaging the dignity of the Igbo people for crumbs from their masters in Abuja.

Powerful cried: “While Northern politicians routinely shield and rescue terrorists, bandits, and mass murderers from the clutches of justice, and Yoruba leaders stood firmly to rescue their sons—Sunday Igboho and Omoyele Sowore—from tyranny, the so-called governors of Igboland and traditional rulers have become cheerleaders of oppression.

“Instead of insisting on the unconditional release of [Nnamdi Kanu], who has committed no crime known to law and who was already discharged and acquitted, they busy themselves with begging like slaves before their masters.”

According to him, just as some weak and corrupt men among our ancestors collaborated with foreign slave traders and sold their brothers and sisters into slavery, so too do these governors today conspire against their own son, the one man who has given voice, dignity, and courage to the Igbo race.

“They envy Onyendu’s unmatched popularity among our people, forgetting that their betrayal will never erase the truth—that he stands as the embodiment of the Igbo spirit, unbendable and unbroken,” Powerful stated.

He reminded of the legendary Eboe Landing of 1803, when Igbo men and women, captured and brought to Georgia, chose to walk into the waters together and die rather than “bow to chains oppression” as slaves.

“That act of defiance has resonated for centuries as a testament to the Igbo spirit of honour above servitude,” he recalled.

While lamenting the shame of governors, Powerful noted that “the men who occupy Government Houses in Igboland today have chosen dishonour.

“They crawl on their bellies before Abuja, trading away our dignity for political survival and second term in office.

“They are mocked behind their backs by Fulani and Yoruba politicians who marvel at the weakness and jealousy that blind them.

“Instead of protecting the collective interest of their people, they actively participate in the humiliation of the Igbo nation,” he said.

Powerful emphasised that Nnamdi Kanu has already been discharged and acquitted by a competent court of jurisdiction.

“No Supreme Court, no tribunal, and no dictator can overturn” that discharge, he stressed.

“His continued detention is not just illegal; it is an abomination before man and God.

“The Igbo spirit will outlive these betrayers, just as the memory of Eboe Landing outlives the slave traders.

“The people know who stood firm and who sold their own…

“History will record that the governors of Igboland chose to side with oppressors against their own flesh and blood…

“In the end, we always win,” he comforted.
