JUST IN: Tinubu Arrives in Brazil for Economic Partnerships

President Bola Tinubu today began a two-day state visit to Brazil, accepting a personal invitation from Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The visit follows engagements in Japan and aims to translate diplomatic goodwill into concrete economic outcomes.

Officials say this visit marks a pivotal shift from traditional summit diplomacy to substantive bilateral cooperation. Focus areas include agriculture, energy, technology, aviation, and renewable energy. A highlight of the agenda is the launch of the $1.1 billion Green Imperative mechanization project, alongside new foreign direct investment streams into Nigeria’s priority sectors.

This mission represents Tinubu’s third visit to Brazil within nine months—an intentional strategy to deepen economic ties and rejuvenate historical partnerships.
