Katsina Police arrest two suspected car thieves, reject N1m bribe

Katsina, Nigeria – April 17, 2025- The Katsina State Police Command has achieved a major breakthrough in combating car theft by arresting two suspects and refusing a hefty bribe.
According to DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred during a routine patrol on April 11, 2025.
Specifically, officers from Border Patrol Zone 4 intercepted a green Toyota Corolla LE near Birnin Kuka village at around 3:00 PM.

Upon inspection, the police discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Meanwhile, the suspects, Mubarak Kabir, 26, and Adamu Hashim, 27, attempted to bribe the officers with N1 million.
However, the patrol team immediately rejected the offer and proceeded with the arrest.
Consequently, the police recovered the stolen car, the bribe money, three mobile phones, a power bank, and a set of keys.
Commissioner of Police Bello Shehu commended the officers for their professionalism and integrity.
Furthermore, he reiterated the Command’s dedication to protecting citizens and upholding justice.
Currently, the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
