Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris has suspended the State Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Yunusa Musa Ismail, with immediate effect over alleged negligence and failure to fulfill official duties.
The order, issued via a statement from Government House, demands that the commissioner justify why further disciplinary measures should not be taken against him. The suspension will remain in force pending the outcome of the review.
The move follows public outcry triggered by a viral video showing dire conditions at Kangiwa General Hospital: patients were seen lying on bare metal beds lacking mattresses or basic amenities. Governor Idris stressed that the administration remains firmly committed to accountability, discipline, and effective service delivery.
