Man docked for allegedly stealing energy drinks worth N33m |

A 47-year-old man, Yinusa Odidi, was docked in Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing energy drinks worth N33 million.
The police charged Odidi, whose address was not given, with conspiracy and theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 29, 2024 alongside others, who are at large in the Ikeja area of Lagos.

She alleged that the defendant conspired with others to transfer loads of “Climax Energy Drink”, products of Nigeria Breweries, property of GPC Energy and Logistics Company, Ltd.
She added that the company is located at No4D, Regina Coker Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
“The defendant and his cohorts stole 28 pallets of Climax Energy Drink, product of Nigerian Breweries and valued at N33.
“The products belong to GPC Energy and Logistics Ltd located in Ikeja”, she said.
Ilhayere said that the defendant was eventually arrested following police investigations.
The offence, according to her, contravenes the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The Magistrate, L.A Owolabi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Owolabi adjourned the case until April 29 for hearing.
