Man United send scouts to watch Porto teenager Rodrigo Mora

Manchester United have set their sights on Porto teenage sensation Ronaldo Mora after failing in their attempts to sign Geovany Quenda.

With Ruben Amorim now in charge, the Red Devils are expected to be active in the Portuguese market. The 40-year-old was hoping to reunite with his Sporting CP disciple Quenda, but the latter eventually shunned his old manager in favour of a Chelsea move, partially because he doesn’t fancy playing in a 3-4-2-1 formation, as he prefers to play in his natural role as an advanced winger.

Nevertheless, Portugal is blessed with a superb pool of talent, and the next wonderkid is often just around the corner.

So according to sources close to Stretty News, Man Utd have sent scouts to watch Mora in action for Porto. They have reportedly attended the Dragao’s latest two clashes against Estoril Praia and Benfica.

The 17-year-old played an instrumental role in the 2-1 victory over Estoril, scoring the winner in the second half. He was also in the starting lineup against Benfica, but couldn’t deliver the goods, as his team suffered a 1-4 defeat against their arch-rivals.

Mora is primarily an attacking midfielder whose attitude has been described as ‘cheeky’, as he’s never afraid to ask for the ball and try to take on his marker or attempt an audacious piece of skill, even though he’s only playing his first full season with the senior side.

In Martin Anselmi playing in a 3-4-3 system, the youngster has been deployed on the left wing.

Man Utd would have a sensational talent among their ranks if they manage to strike this coup, but they could face stern competition from the likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Aston Villa.

Nevertheless, our sources believe the Red Devils are in pole position to lure the Portuguese teenager to Carrington.
