Man United set sights on former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham

Manchester United’s search for a new striker has reportedly led them to Tammy Abraham who has been playing his football away from the Premier League since 2021.
The Red Devils have found little joy thus far in their attempts to find a new centre-forward capable of raising the quality of the department.
Due to their limited transfer funds, £30 million Liam Delap emerged as the perfect target, but their lack of Champions League football tipped the scales in favour of Chelsea who prevailed in the race.
Therefore, Man Utd must find themselves an alternative solution, and according to TBR, they have set their sights on Abraham.

The London native is a Chelsea youth product who had loan stints at Bristol and Aston Villa early in his career before becoming a pillar in the Blues’ first team under Frank Lampard in the 2019/2020 season.
The 27-year-old’s lack of playing time under Thomas Tuchel prompted a transfer to Roma in the summer of 2021, where he became an instant hit with the crowds.
Jose Mourinho described his performances as ‘amazing’, but an injury suffered in his second season derailed his momentum in the Italian capital.
Abraham’s highs & lows in Serie A
Abraham spent this campaign on loan at AC Milan, but despite his occasional good showings, he hasn’t been able to carve himself a regular starting spot, and he’s unlikely to be redeemed by the Rossoneri.
Hence, the English striker is expected to make a brief return to Roma who will be aiming to sell him outright, with a return to the Premier League potentially on the cards.
Abraham’s Stats | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 89 | 27 | 7 |
Serie A | 112 | 29 | 14 |
While the source claims that Man Utd have contacted the player’s entourage to ask about his availability, they will face competition from the likes of West Ham and Everton who are also interested in the former Chelsea man.
It remains to be seen if this will emerge as a plausible track, but the club’s supporters might not be entirely convinced by this potential choice, as they prefer a bomber with a more impressive track record, like Viktor Gyokeres or Victor Osimhen.
