Man United star Hojlund given advice by fomer striker Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge has offered some tough but fair advice to Rasmus Hojlund, calling on the young Manchester United striker to be more selfish in front of goal as he battles through a difficult second season at Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old Danish international, who arrived with big expectations after a £72 million move from Atalanta, has struggled to make a major impact, netting just three times in 28 appearances this season.
As per some reports, Man United are close to replacing Hojlund in the team by signing Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Sturridge, a former Premier League forward with Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea, sympathised with Hojlund’s situation but made it clear that the young striker needs to take more responsibility.
‘Centre-back have had more shots,’ said Sturridge on Sky Sports, as reported by Daily Mail.
‘I have had periods where I have had one shot coming off the pitch and it is down to me, my run selection.
‘It is also communicating with team-mates this is what I want from you. The one thing he has to improve on for me is being a little bit more selfish, you have to pick your spots.
‘There’s something in there, he is not a bad player, he has talent and maybe the setup he is in now isn’t allowing him to flourish.’
Should Man United show patience with Hojlund?

For many United fans, it’s been frustrating watching Hojlund this season.
The raw talent is obvious, the pace, the physicality, the flashes of sharp movement, but there’s also a sense that he’s being let down by the system around him.
And that’s where the fan base finds itself divided: how much of Hojlund’s struggles are on him, and how much are on a dysfunctional United team still finding its identity under manager Ruben Amorim.
Ultimately, the hope among United fans is simple: that Hojlund listens to advice like Sturridge’s, sharpens his killer instinct, and shows the bravery needed to demand more of his teammates and himself.
