Manchester United are still planning to part ways with Casemiro this summer, at least if they were to receive an offer that satisfies their demands.
The 33-year-old started his campaign on a horrific note. He was completely out of his depth during the 0-3 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford. He also had several other poor showings that limited his playing time in mid-season.
Nevertheless, an injury criris allowed the veteran to regain a starting spot, and he has been able to catch a second wind, evoking memories of his ‘world-class’ form.
The Brazilian has put together a solid run as of late, and was one of the main architects behind the unbelievable late comeback against Lyon in the Europa League.
Casemiro was described as ‘colossal’ after producing two assists and winning a spot kick that turned the result upside-down in the final minutes.
But according to Football Insider, the midfielder’s recent resurgence won’t change INEOS’ stance on his future, even if Ruben Amorim expressed his openness to keep to keep the player beyond the current campaign.
INEOS still eager to sell Casemiro

Casemiro’s contract is still valid for another year, and he remains the club’s highest earner, collecting £350,000 per week. Perhaps this detail can explain why the hierarchy is eager to part ways with the former Real Madrid man.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that United wouldn’t want to register a capital loss, so they will be hoping to receive an offer that matches the player’s current book value, which is estimated at circa £15 million.
Casemiro’s most plausible destination could be the Saudi Pro League, as the rich Arabic clubs could be able to afford his transfer fee in addition to his hefty wages.
The Brazil international has thus far contributed with three goals and as many assists in 37 appearances in all competitions this season.
