Man Utd teenager Amir Ibragimov confirms signing his first contract

Manchester United youngster Amir Ibragimov revealed he signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old forward hails from Russia, but has been living in England alongside his family since the age of 11. He initially joined Sheffield United’s ranks, before being poached by the Red Devils.
The teenager currently plays for the club’s U18 side, and is widely considered one of the most exciting young talents at the club. This season, he contributed with six goals and four assists in his 16 appearances in the U18 Premier League.
Therefore, the management was quick to tie down Ibragimov with a professional contract to ward off unwanted suitors. The player confirmed the news by posting a picture of himself signing the contract on his Instagram account.
“Happy to sign my first professional contract for manchesterunited nothing changes, the hard work goes on. #alhamdulillah,” reads the caption.
The Dagestani has already impressed many at the club, including Man Utd’s former head coach Erik ten Hag, who had invited him to train with the senior team at the tender age of 15.
Ibragimov also earned great plaudits for his ‘classy’ gesture back in March 2022, when he was awarded a spot-kick for a non-existent foul during an under-15 contest. While the Spurs players were furious with the match official’s decision, the young Russian rectified the situation by placing the ball on the spot and passing it to the goalkeeper, as he refused to take advantage of a refereeing mistake.
Amir Ibragimov signs maiden professional contract

The 17-year-old primarily plays as a left winger, but Man Utd futsal player, Raducio King, who oversaw the player’s trial, believes he can play a similar role to club legend Wayne Rooney, as he highlighted the player’s technical skills, as well as his die-hard attitude.
“I could see him playing as a No 10, like a Wayne Rooney role, driving forward, switching balls, tackling, attacking, you name it,” said King.
“We don’t want Amir to lose his flair or creativity and as a technical coach of his, he’s got all the tools in his toolbox to succeed.”
It remains to be seen if Ibragimov will be able to follow in the footsteps of fellow teenager Chido Obi-Martin who has been involved with the senior squad recently.
