Manchester United provide reassuring update over Saturday’s Premier League vs Nottingham Forest
Manchester United reassure the fans that their encounter with Nottingham Forest will go ahead as planned despite weather concerns.
Britain is currently enduring a massive storm that sent millions on alert. The wind speeds have exceeded 90mph in some regions, causing major concerns over public safety.
Storm Darragh has also affected the Premier League calendar, as Saturday’s early kickoff between Everton and local rivals Liverpool has been called off.
The Merseyside Derby will have to be played on another date, much to the Reds’ dismay. The Premier League leaders already have an over-packed schedule, so fitting this fixture won’t be an easy task.
On the contrary, Man United insist that their clash with Nottingham Forest is due to be played on Saturday as planned (kickoff at 17:30 UK time)

The Red Devils released a statement reassuring that barring a late twist the match will take place at Old Trafford later today, while taking into account the miserable traveling condition for the supporters when it comes to counting the minimum number of games a season-ticket holder must attend during the season.
“Today’s Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned,” stated the official note posted by the club on X.
“The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will update supporters immediately if anything changes.
“We understand that fan travel will be disrupted by the weather so this fixture will not be included in the minimum number of games a season that season tickets must be used.”
This small gesture will hardly be sufficient to appease the supporters who remain livid by the recently increased ticket prices.
