Missing Babcock student, Oladipupo found

A student of Babcock University, Oladipupo Siwajuola, who was declared missing by his mother, Fijabi Omotayo, has been found.
Fijabi took to Facebook to announce that Oladipupo had been found.
The troubled mother had earlier raised the alarm over the disappearance of Oladipupo, a student of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.

In a Facebook live video, Omotayo said she dropped her son off at the university on Sunday evening, April 27, 2025, but had not been able to reach or locate him since then.
Calls to him were fruitless, leading to her paying a visit to the school, where nobody could account for Oladipupo.
She said in the video: “I dropped him off myself on Sunday evening, but for the past three days, I have not been able to sleep. I went to the school, and they told me that students sometimes hide within the premises. Babcock University should please help find my son”.
The distraught mother accused the university of withholding information, particularly regarding two students identified as Lampard and Tobi who she claimed were the last to see her son.
The mother’s online agitation prompted the Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on New Media, Emmanuel Ojo, to contact the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, who, in turn, reached out to the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ademola Tayo.
The VC, who was not aware of the case at the time, got involved and collected the student’s name, photograph, and related details and assured that the matter would be investigated.
Security agencies got involved and summoned the individuals mentioned by the mother for questioning.
The Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Adeyemi Samson Ajasa, also issued a statement calling on the management of Babcock University to prioritise the immediate provision of comprehensive information regarding the whereabouts of Oladipupo immediately.
About 3 o’clock this afternoon, the missing student’s mother took to her Facebook wall to announce that Oladipupo had been found.
“My son has been found,” she wrote on her wall. She did not provide any further details.
There were comments under her post suggesting that the student might have got involved with some students who seized his phone and collected valuables from him to recoup a loan he allegedly took from them.
This information is yet to be officially confirmed.
Official information concerning the disappearance of the student and his recovery is still being awaited.
