Mr P Slams U.S. Waitress Over Tipping Complaint

Singer Fires Back at Restaurant Staffer Who Allegedly Mocked Him for Leaving a $60 Tip on $1,000 Bill.
Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, half of the iconic P-Square duo, publicly lashed out at a United States waitress who reportedly complained that a $60 tip he left on a $1,000 restaurant bill was insufficient.
The incident was revealed by Okoye himself on his Instagram story, where he shared a screenshot of a message allegedly sent to him by the waitress, identified as Sandra Zubia. The message expressed frustration with the singer’s generosity after a lengthy stay at the restaurant.
The waitress allegedly wrote: “How you come eat, come in hella late and chill at a restaurant. Your bill was A THOUSAND dollars and leave SIXTY dollars tip? Ridiculous. No wonder people hate y’all.”
Peter Okoye, sharing his shock at the attitude of entitlement, fired back at the waitress’s reaction, questioning the culture of expecting large tips in the U.S.
“Sometimes, eh, dis oyinbos na them no get sense. Una dey craze for this Yankee aswear. For my own money again?” the singer wrote, expressing his disbelief that someone could complain about money that was freely given.
The incident has sparked conversation online regarding tipping culture in the U.S. hospitality industry and the expectations placed on customers, particularly high-profile guests.
